Assignment
Due to the special dimensions of the project, the specific displacement air system was to be tested prior to realization. The requirements: - ensuring ÖNORM 9000 thermal comfort requirements in the occupied zone with a given glazing and parapet cladding of the building, - fresh air distribution in the entire occupied zone, - max. sound power level of 30 dBA, - optimization of operating parameters to meet ÖNORM requirements.

 

 

 

 

Solution
A 6 x 4 m section of an open office was reproduced 1:1 in the air flow lab. The glass façade was simulated through the use of metal water-flow radiant panel, the solar radiation through a heating foil on the floor. Airflow tests, carried out in full-load cooling, partial cooling and full-load heating modes, resulted in a clear identification of factors having an essential impact on comfort while confirming the system as a whole. It turned out that with the use of a displacement  air flow system, the façade characteristics (k-value, g-value) play an important role with view to the thermal comfort while the geometry of the furnishing is secondary.v>
